Edgility is a blending of the word forms (and meanings) of edge and agility to create a new word. Edgility embodies a learning principle that I have chosen to guide me as I rethink learning in an era of digital content and information abundance. Why agility? In this era, we must become more agile, continuously reorganizing our knowledge structures to accelerate our understanding. Why edge? Leveraging our social networks can give us strength and make us more agile. The edges of networks allow us to connect to expansive ideas and learn from others expert performances.
As a researcher, I investigate how digital tools can be leveraged to support more productive system-wide engagement in which social and cultural interactions take place. It is in these interactions that learning, understanding, and innovative inferences expand. To learn more about my research in this area see my curriculum vitae.
